Digital marketing jobs in Nepal for freshers: how to get hired with no experience

On this page
"Digital marketing" is one of the most-searched career phrases in Nepal, and much of the advice is a course advert. This guide is what I would tell a fresher, based on how I started and what the sources say about pay.
Know the roles
Job titles overlap, so read the description, not the title:

- Digital marketing intern or trainee: the usual first step. You help with posting, reporting and research.
- Content or social media executive: writing and scheduling content, basic design, community replies.
- SEO executive or specialist: keyword research, on-page fixes, reports. Technical skills are rarer, which helps.
- Performance or paid ads executive: Meta and Google Ads, budgets, tracking.
- Marketing operations or analytics: tracking, dashboards and automation.
Pick one lane. A CV that says "everything" reads as nothing.
What to build before you apply
A certificate is a weak signal. Proof of work is stronger:

- One live project. A small site or page you own, with Search Console and GA4 connected.
- Two or three before-and-after write-ups. What you changed, what you measured, what happened. Say plainly if the result was small.
- A one-page portfolio with links, not screenshots only.
- A short sample deliverable, such as a mini SEO audit of a local business, sent with permission.
Where to find real openings

- Nepali job boards and company career pages.
- LinkedIn, searching for the role and "Nepal" or "remote".
- Agencies, which hire juniors more often than product companies.
- Direct outreach to small businesses with a specific, useful idea instead of "I need a job".
What pay to expect, and how to check
Sources disagree widely. Recruitment blogs quote about NPR 15,000 to 50,000 a month for entry level, Payscale shows an annual average near NPR 213,000 for a specialist, and Paylab shows a very wide spread. I compare them in digital marketing salary in Nepal. None of these are official statistics.
Before accepting an offer, ask:
- Is the pay monthly gross or take-home?
- Is there a probation period, and is it paid?
- What will I own in the first 90 days?
- Who will review my work?
Mistakes I would avoid
- Paying for several courses before building anything.
- Applying to forty roles with one generic CV.
- Taking an unpaid trial that never ends.
- Ignoring analytics. Anyone who can show results stands out.
Thinking beyond Nepal
Remote work for startups abroad is possible but needs proof and a strong English portfolio. My own path is on the services page, and if you want to see what client work looks like, read about Presenton AI.
